Rena Richard Bergeaux
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. honoring the life of Rena Richard “Cricket” Bergeaux, 77, who passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014. Father David Broussard will be officiating her services.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Tuesday, July 1, 2014, from 2:30-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 8 a.m. until the time of her services. Burial will be held at a later date in Scott.
Rena “Cricket” was born on Feb. 2, 1937, in Crowley, to the late Joseph Richard and the late Eva Abshire Richard. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being a wife and mother. She loved fishing, cooking and raising chickens.
Rena “Cricket” is survived by her two loving daughters, Viola A. Guidry of Welsh and Pamela G. (Gary) Sanders of Iowa; and one brother, John Bernard Richard of Estherwood. She also leaves behind to cherish in her memory, 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Joseph and Eva Richard; her first husband, Nelson Guidry Sr.; her second husband, Howard Bergeaux; her beloved son, Nelson Joseph Guidry Jr.; her beloved daughter, Debra Cormier; three brothers; and five sisters.
