On the morning of July 7, avid cyclict Lon Lomas, 30, of Youngsville was enjoying an early morning bike ride when he was struck and killed by 42 year-old Fitzpatrick Doucette, who fled the scene. Doucette was eventually arrested and charged with felony hit and run, negligent homicide and other charges.
