“Share the Road” with cyclists

On the morning of July 7, avid cyclict Lon Lomas, 30, of Youngsville was enjoying an early morning bike ride when he was struck and killed by 42 year-old Fitzpatrick Doucette, who fled the scene. Doucette was eventually arrested and charged with felony hit and run, negligent homicide and other charges. In the wake of this recent bicycling tragedy, it is important for both motorists and bicyclists to raise their awareness on such a preventable issue.
