LA musician to be inducted into Cajun Hall of Fame

By AUBREY BROUSSARD

Daily News Staff Writer

August Broussard has had a deep love and appreciation for music all of his life. The Westlake native was born on August 3, 1945, and is the son of Arthur and Zenia (Myers) Broussard. He grew up surrounded by a deep infusion of Cajun music influences, and was the only child among his siblings to have the desire to play music. “Ever since I was a little boy, I loved music,” said Broussard. “I’d put a stick in the ground and pretend it was a microphone and sing. I used a box and pretended it was an accordion. I had an uncle who played the accordion and I always loved it.”
