Parish rivals set to conclude prep basketball season

WELSH – After three full months of battling in a fierce seven-team district, the Lake Arthur and Welsh girls basketball teams will conclude league play here tonight when they face each other in the season finale. Both squads are long shots to get playoff berths, so the game will be for bragging rights when the Lady Greyhounds from Welsh and the Lake Arthur Lady Tigers battle tonight.
Welsh will enter the contest with an overall season record of 3-23 and a 0-11 league mark in District 5-2A. The Lady Hounds have found themselves shorthanded this season and in many games, left with just seven or eight players dressed up for action.
