School Board calls for two tax elections

The Jeff Davis Parish School Board will be asking voters in the Lake Arthur and Hathaway areas to approve one property tax continuation and one rededication during the Saturday, May 1 election.
The board introduced the two tax propositions at their Thursday meeting. Neither proposition can officially be called a renewal, explained Finance Director Bill Hebert, although if voters approve them, they will not be paying any more than they were previously.
