COA, AARP offer free tax aid

Area senior citizens now have the opportunity to receive free tax aid since the Jeff Davis Parish Council on Aging (COA) and American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) have once again joined forces this tax season.
Ed Stockton, who has worked with the COA on the tax program in previous years, said trained professionals will once again be assisting seniors with tax preparation at no cost. The program began Feb. 5 and will be held each Friday at the COA on State Street in Jennings from 9 a.m. until noon through April 9.
