Belt family celebrates a “merry” Christmas

By REBECCA CHAISSON Daily News Editor On Nov. 20, Joel Belt of Jennings underwent open-heart surgery at St Louis Children’s Hospital, becoming only the fifth child in the United States to undergo the risky procedure. A shunt was placed in between his pulmonary and descending aorta artery to help allow his heart to function.
