Daily News Staff Report The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) arrested two suspects Thursday in connection with a home invasion and attempted second degree murder that was reported shortly after 1 p.m.

Trailer Fire Under Investigation


On Thursday evening, Jennings firefighters responded to a call regarding a trailer fire at 703 South Cutting Avenue. The suspect, Carolyn Sinegal, sustained injuries and is in custody in connection with the fire. Bridge expected to reopen in fall

The Vie Terre Beau Bridge has not been accessible to automobiles since it was closed in January of last year. Initially, parish officials on both sides of the bridge set up barriers to prevent the public from accessing the damaged bridge. On the Acadia Parish side, vegetation has taken over most of the road between the original barricade and the bridge.
