4-H Jr. Leaders host appreciation breakfast

The Jeff Davis 4-H Jr. Leaders hosted a pancake appreciation breakfast for area law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs and first responders. A group of youth met guests at the door and welcomed them inside the LSU AgCenter Conference room Thursday morning from 7 to 10 a.m. Safety and emergency people were invited to sit and dine in the building or take a plate to go. The appreciation breakfast was part of the Jr. Leaders community service efforts.

Fair fun weekend

Vendors, games and rides are being set up at the Jeff Davis Parish (JDP) Fairgrounds in preparation for the 2016 fair. Fair activities will continue through the week with the school booth judging and talent show today; agricultural and homemaking exhibits, as well as the Queen’s pageant on Thursday; a livestock show through Friday; and carnival events until Saturday.
