WELSH — The Welsh Greyhounds took a dramatic win over the Church Point Bears on Tuesday at Sportsman’s Park by outlasting their guests 6-5 in a 10-inning thriller. With the game tied at 5-5 in the bottom of the 10th frame, Ethan Beard drew a walk, stole second and later came around to score the winning run on an error by the Church Point third baseman to claim the dramatic victory. Dane Iguess was dazzling on the mound for the Hounds, twirling five innings of three-hit ball and recorded 11 strikeouts. Beard came out of the pen and picked up where Iguess left off. Beard hurled five innings of two-hit baseball and fanned nine over his five frames. With the win, the Hounds moved to 6-2 on the season and will be back in action over the weekend.
