Students showcase talents during Red Ribbon Week

WELSH – Students at Welsh High School (WHS) said “no” to drugs and “yes” to showcasing their talents as part of Red Ribbon Drug Awareness Week at the school. According to WHS Guidance Counselor Mamcy Mallett, the students were able to demonstrate their individual abilities during the “Showcase Your Talent” show, demonstrating to other students that there are other alternatives to doing drugs. Mallett said it was not a judged talent show, but rather an opportunity for parents, other students and the community to see the talents of WHS students.
Mallet said that over the past few years, the school’s basic theme during Red Ribbon Week has been positive.
