Treen memorial held at Capitol

BATON ROUGE (AP) — Former Gov. Dave Treen was memorialized Monday as a humble statesman who eschewed the grudges and mudslinging of politics, in a service that brought hundreds of mourners to the Capitol to remember Louisiana's first Republican governor since Reconstruction.
Treen died last week at the age of 81, succumbing to complications from a respiratory illness.
