JDSO recovers stolen guns

LACASSINE – Two men are behind bars after Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office (JDSO) deputies found one of them in possession of a number of stolen rifles, pistols and other items from a camp near here.
Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff Ricky Edwards said Ronald Owens, 31, of Welsh and Shane Reeves, 32, of Reeves, were issued arrest warrants on Wednesday. Owens was charged with two counts of burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $80,000 by 31st Judicial District Judge Steve Gunnell. Reeves, who was already in jail for domestic abuse in Allen Parish at the time of the warrant’s issue, was charged with two counts of burglary and transferred to Jeff Davis Parish’s Jail for his part in the thefts. Gunnell set Reeves’ bond at $60,000.
