Amateur historian recognizes fallen JPD officer

The name E. Cameron Coffin may not ring a bell for many local residents, but Jennings Police Department officials will soon be making sure he gains a place in the city’s long history – all thanks to one Southeast Louisiana man.
Lt. Wayne Norwood of Ponchatoula, a St. John’s Parish sheriff’s deputy and the owner of the Louisiana Treasures Museum, discovered Coffin’s name recently while conducting research on the Internet.
