LAKE ARTHUR – One school librarian here is solving the age-old problems of getting children to read while also raising money to support her library. And she’s doing it by giving the books a little dose of caffeine.
Lake Arthur High School (LAHS) Librarian Vicki Broussard and her students have added the new “L.A. Café” to the school library, bringing in new readers and using the profits to buy new reading materials. The students can buy hot chocolate, coffee, lemonade, muffins, and almost anything you would find at a regular coffee shop, according to Broussard.
