DARE graduates recognized
Area fifth graders learn to ‘just say no’

Jeff Davis Parish fifth grade students participated in the 34th bi-annual Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) graduation on Wednesday morning at the Strand Theatre in Jennings. After spending their fall semester learning about the negative effects of drugs and how to handle peer pressure and bullying, students from Welsh Elementary, Lacassine High School, Fenton Elementary and Hathaway High School were honored at a morning program that included DARE Officer Lee Robinson, Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff Ricky Edwards, District Attorney Michael Cassidy, Superintendent of Schools David Clayton and motivational speaker Clifton LeJeune.
