The Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury will soon be taking ownership of as many as 10 area hurricane-damaged properties from the Louisiana Land Trust (LLT) – properties that can be used for jury interests or sold for a profit.
Jury Attorney and Asst. District Attorney David Bruchhaus explained to jurors at their Wednesday meeting that those properties will be transferred to the jury’s ownership within the next six months at no cost to the jury. Nine properties are already approved for transfer, while another may soon be added to the list. The majority of the properties are in the Jennings and Elton areas.
