Beneth Hill of Welsh was named the winner of the Jennings Daily News 2010 Super Bowl XLIV contest and received a free recliner, compliments of the Jennings Daily News and Bordelon’s Furniture, for coming the closest to accurately pinpointing the scores in last weekend’s NFL Conference Championships. Hill predicted that the New Orleans Saints would beat the Minnesota Vikings, 34-31; the actual score was 31-28. Hill also predicted that the Indianapolis Colts would defeat the New York Jets, 27-17, while the actual score was 30-17.
For winning the contest, Hill also received five pounds of sausage from Coleman’s; smoked brisket from Cormier’s Meat Market; a $25 gift card from Shop Rite; a Jennings Daily News gift card; and a case of beer, with ice, from Daigle’s Phillips 66.
