Evelyn Frances Knapek Teague (02-19-2010)
LAKE ARTHUR – A Mass of Christian burial for Evelyn Frances Knapek Teague, 82, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, with Father Clyde Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:30-9 p.m. today, Feb. 16, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., and will continue from 8 a.m. until time of services Wednesday.
Mrs. Teague will be laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home. She was called to her Heavenly Father Sunday evening, Feb. 14, 2010, while surrounded by her beloved family.
Mrs. Teague was born in Ellinger, Texas, to the late Frank and Julia Stancik Knapek in February of 1927. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a very kind and loving person whom always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. She had such a fun-loving personality and loved to make people laugh. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Leaving behind to cherish her memories are her beloved husband of 64 years, Marcus Dean Teague of Lake Arthur; two daughters, Linda (Donald) Monk of Lake Charles and Claudia (Terry) Monceaux of Lake Arthur; brother, Vastine Benny (Theresa) Knapek of Cypress, Texas; and her two beautiful grandsons, Thad (Nicole) Monk, and Bret (Katrina) Monceaux; six great grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, and John Paul Monk, and Marcus, Baylor, and Gracie Monceaux; and her Godchildren, Cheryl Reed of Cypress, Texas and Debbie Preuss of Sugarland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clarence and Cyril Knapek; and three sisters, Bernice Janda, Lillian Hauser, and Silvia Kallus.
