Virgie M. Hebert (02-21-2010)
LAKE ARTHUR – Funeral services for Mrs. Virgie Marie Hebert, 72, will be held at 4:30 p.m. today, Feb. 18, 2010, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Mrs. Hebert will be laid to rest at a later date.
Visitation will be held from noon until 8 p.m. today.
A rosary, led by the Knights of Columbus of Jennings, will be recited at 7 p.m. today. Mrs. Hebert was called to her Heavenly Father Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, from her home in Liberty, Texas.
Virgie Marie was born in Lake Arthur to the late Murphy and Lily Mae Martin Conner in November 1937. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. Virgie loved farm animals and doing crafts. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved step-mother, Winnie Suire of Klondike; one son, Micheal Hebert of Andrus Cove; two daughters, Linda Gray and Pam (Antonio) Lopez, both of Liberty, Texas; one brother, Milton Conner of Klondike; two sisters, Lois Spence of Abbeville and Emma Benoit of Lake Arthur; her eight beautiful grandchildren, Shawna and Michelle Hebert, Crystal Dagle, Natasha Disney, John Paul Allen, Kimberly Gilstrap, Amanda Croker and Jessica Brown; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Hebert; one daughter, Juanita Hebert; one great-granddaughter, Jalynn Adams; her brother-in-law, Stanford Benoit; and her step-brother, Neiles Broussard.
