Brittany Kate Trahan of Iota and Clay Stewart Hulsey of Jennings were married at 6 p.m. Aug. 1, 2009, at Grand Marais Courtyard in Jennings, with Pastor Tony Bourque officiating the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Diane Trahan of Iota and the granddaughter of Richard and Toni Trahan of Iota, Earl McFarlain Sr. of Jennings and Evelyn McFarlain of Jennings. She is the great-granddaughter of Vern Cart of Iota and Una Richard of Jennings.
A 2006 graduate of Iota High School, she is attending LSU at Eunice and McNeese State University majoring in art and photography. She is the owner of Kate’s Photography in Jennings.
The groom is the son of Tony and Amy Hulsey of Jennings and the grandson of Jim and Linda Wrentz of Tomball, Texas, and Mrs. Chris Hulsey of Willis, Texas. He is the great-grandson of Trudy Blume of Spring, Texas.
A 2006 graduate of Jennings High School, he is attending McNeese State University majoring in engineering technology. He is currently employed with Riceland Aviation of Jennings.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a vanilla duchess silk satin gown accented with alencon lace appliqués by Lazaro. The strapless gown featured an elongated torso with a circular skirt and a chapel train. The look was completed with a white, single-layered fingertip veil embellished with a ribbon edge and scattered pearls. She carried a clustered bouquet of coral roses with hot pink tips. Green hipericum berries accented the floral design.
Maid of honor was Aleigha Singer of Lake Charles, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Keri Simar of Evangeline, Kara Oliver and Sarah Simar, both of Iota, Megan Brown of Eunice, and Amy Bourne and Heather Vidrine, both of Jennings.
Miniature bridesmaid was Addison Rose of Basile.
They wore strapless, A-line, floor-length gowns in glass green that featured princess seams. The ribbon and bow waistlines were embellished with silver beads. They carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.
Best men were Lance Hulsey and Luke Hulsey of Jennings.
Groomsmen were Daniel Wrentz of Houston, Texas, Eddie Higginbotham and Aarron Trahan, both of Jennings, Josh Singer of Lake Charles and Jeremiah Trahan of Iota.
Miniature groomsman was Jared Wrentz of Houston, Texas.
Ushers were Caleb Brown of Lake Mary, Fla., and Marcus Boudreaux of Jennings.
Flower girl was Roury Thibodeaux of Iota.
Ring bearer was Eli Gotte of Iota.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at Grand Marais Courtyard. The couple was married on the 50th wedding anniversary of the bride’s grandparents, Richard and Toni Trahan of Iota. The Trahans celebrated their anniversary with a table at the reception, which held a two-tiered cake, their wedding album and several family pictures.
Following a seven-day honeymoon cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands and Cozumel, the newlyweds reside in Jennings.
