| Benoit-Lutyhe (03-11-2009) ![]() Ashley Nicole Benoit of Lake Arthur and Mark Henry Lutyhe of Metairie were married at 6 p.m. Dec. 27, 2008, at the Tabernacle on the lake in Lake Arthur, with Pastor Douglas Milliron of the Methodist Church in Gueydan and Lake Arthur officiating the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Charles and Katherine Benoit of Lake Arthur. She is the granddaughter of the late Ogden and Irene Benoit of Jennings, the late Louis “L.T.” and Imogene Thibodeaux and Oran Guidry of Lake Arthur. A 1999 graduate of Lake Arthur High School, she graduated from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2004 with a B.A. in political science and a B.A. in English. She is also a 2007 graduate of Southern University Law Center with a J.D. in law. She is a member of the American Bar Association and is currently attending University of Louisiana at Lafayette for alternate certification in secondary English education. She is employed full-time as an assistant director with L.A. Showstoppers Dance and Cheer Company. The groom is the son of Henry Lutyhe of Metairie and Leon and Linda Broussard of Gueydan. He is the grandson of Clara Monceaux Dugas of Lake Arthur, the late Cesar Dugas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gus Lutyhe. A 2000 graduate of Lake Arthur High School, he is currently employed as a wireline operator for Production Wireline and Cased Hole Services LLC in Broussard. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless matte satin gown that featured a sweetheart neckline. The beaded bodice was lavished with Swarovski crystals and a unique pointed design by Private Label by G. The front skirt was embellished in a beaded embroidery pattern that followed through to a corset back. The semi-cathedral train was highlighted with a gorgeous French bustle. The bride wore crystal earrings and a single strand of pearls that belonged to her grandmother, Imogene Thibodeaux. She carried a round bouquet of red roses adorned in crystals and black feathers with a black satin ribbon hand-wrapped handle. Maid of honor was Morgan Blair Benoit of Lake Arthur. Matron of honor was Erica Broussard Istre of Lake Arthur. Bridesmaids were Brooke Gauthier of Scott, Heidi Roy of Iowa, Allie Hartwell Lacombe of Shreveport and Victoria Thibodeaux of Lake Arthur. They wore black satin Mori Lee floor-length gowns with scooped, strapless necklines and waterfall skirts. Each dress was trimmed with a white satin ribbon and waist sash. They carried a white fur hand muff made by the bride’s aunt, Darlena Thibodeaux. Best man was Mike Storms of Youngsville. Groomsmen were Rusty Faircloth and Spencer Francis, both of Lafayette, Dustin Savoie and Jordan Marcantel, both of Lake Arthur, and Jeremy Storms of Youngsville. Flower girl was Gabrielle Daigle of Metairie. Ring bearer was David “Lil D” West of Roanoke. A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at Gueydan Civic Center in Gueydan. Following a honeymoon trip to Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colo., the newlyweds reside in Lake Arthur. |
