| Hanks-Metzger (03-11-2009) ![]() Andrea Kay Hanks and Edward Joseph Metzger, both of Slidell, were married at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2007, in the garden at Benedict’s Plantation in Mandeville, with Rev. John Zimmer officiating. The bride is the daughter of Kay Miguez Hanks and Curtis J. Hanks of Jennings. The bride attended Jennings High School and graduated from Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts. She graduated with a B.A. from Loyola University. She is currently a graduate student in elementary education at University of New Orleans. The groom is the son of Alice Biglin Metzger and John N. Metzger of Shelby, Ohio. A graduate of Holy Spirit High School in Ohio, he earned a B.A. at Ohio State University and an M.S. in meteorology from University of Wisconsin. He is currently employed as a meteorologist/oceanographer at the Naval Research Laboratory at Stennis SpaceCenter. Escorted by her mother, the bride wore a sleeveless organza floor-length gown in ivory, which featured a veil of imported ivory tulle. She carried a bouquet of a dozen ivory roses. Matron of honor was Misti Follis of Jennings. Attendants were the couple’s children, Molly Rose Metzger, Penny Metzger and Julia Lewis. Best man was Richard Lightfoot of Slidell. Groomsmen were the couple’s children, Mitchell Metzger, Daniel Metzger and Alexander Lewis. A reception was held immediately following the ceremony in the ballroom at Benedict’s Plantation. Following a honeymoon trip to Destin, Fla., and Paris, France, the newlyweds reside in Slidell. |
