Amber David of Hathaway and Derek Fontenot of Jennings were married at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Living Word Assembly, with Pastor Mitchell Gott officiating the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Kathy and Wayne Scott of Hathaway and the granddaughter of Ritha Gary.
A graduate of Elton High School, she is currently employed with Bright Beginnings.
The groom is the son of Mona F. and Byron Fontenot of Jennings and the grandson of Lawrence and Lou Fontenot of Jennings and Sherman and Lorena Crochet of Roanoke.
A graduate of Jennings High School, he is currently employed Turner Industries.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore faille a-line gown that featured a flattering sweetheart neckline and a slimmed rouched bodice and side drape detail. She carried a bouquet of yellow, burnt orange and pink gerber daisies.
Matron of honor was Ashley Morrow of Oberlin.
Bridesmaids were Alex David of Hathaway and Alicia Fontenot of Jennings.
They wore pool blue knee-length dresses.
Best man was Byron Fontenot of Jennings.
Groomsman was Justin Richard of Lake Charles.
Ushers were Jackie Fontenot of Lake Arthur and Andy Bellon of Hathaway.
Ring bearer was Ayden Fontenot of Jennings.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at James O’Jall (American Legion).
Following a seven-day honeymoon cruise to Jamaica and the Camen Islands, the newlyweds reside in Jennings.
