Dogs, ladies earn district honors to advance

IOWA – Track season will continue for a number of Jennings track and field athletes, as the top four finishers in each event of Wednesday’s 4-3A district meet qualified for the regional meet set for next Wednesday, April 24. North DeSoto High School will host the meet. Fifth place is alternate.

Jennings’ boys placed second overall as a team with 100 points, while Crowley took the title with 165 points. Notre Dame and Westlake finished third with 75 points each, just ahead of Iowa with 74 and South Beauregard with 31.

The Bulldogs’ Malik Williams took home Outstanding Field honors after finishing first in the long jump (21-2), first in the high jump (6-8) and third in the 110 hurdles (16.57).
