Marshals apprehend man who fled police

Assistant Editor

A suspect who has been on the run from Jennings police since March 21 was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Lafayette this weekend.

The suspect, Rendivus Etienne, 31, of Joe Louis Street in Jennings, actually fled police twice in March. About a week before disappearing on March 21, Etienne led police on a high-speed vehicle pursuit through the south side of town. Etienne crashed his vehicle and fled on food, eluding police. Authorities were able to retrieve several packages of crack cocaine and marijuana that Etienne reportedly threw from his window during the chase.
