Cowgirls finish 2nd at SLC Outdoor Championships

LAKE CHARLES – McNeese sprinter Jasmine Webb made her first season as a Cowgirl a memorable one as she earned the high point award as a result from winning gold medals in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, as well as the 400 meter relay, which helped guide McNeese to a second place finish in the women’s standings in the 2013 Southland Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships here Sunday.

The Cowgirls finished the meet with a school record 134 points, trailing only champion Stephen F. Austin who had 171 points. The men also accumulated a school record with 122 points as they finished third in the team standings – the highest finish since the 1991 season as the Cowgirls’ finish was the highest since the 1999 championships.
