COA announces summer fundraiser

Daily News Staff Writer

On Tuesday, July 16, the Jeff Davis Council on Aging (COA) will be selling hot dog lunches to raise funds for the numerous services and events they offer to local seniors. The council, which provides opportunities for better health, financial education, and all around fun to those 60 years of age or older, is teaming with sponsor MedSource Home Health to sell hotdogs, chips and cookie combos for $5. “This fundraiser will enable us to have more services and help the seniors in our parish,” said COA Activities Coordinator Kim Benoit.

The COA is already on a roll, offering an expansive wellness program that includes treadmills and other workout machines, plus both high- and low-impact aerobic classes free of charge. Also, the council holds belly dancing, Zumba, and hula classes throughout the week for a $1 donation.
