Former OMV employee pleads no contest

A Lafayette woman who was accused of stealing money from the Jennings branch of the Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) pled no contest to a charge of malfeasance in office.

Beronica Jourden, 44, was arrested by Louisiana State Police (LSP) in Sept. 2011 after the OMV suspected her of stealing. Investigators obtained records from OMV officials and determined that money had indeed been stolen. During questioning, Jourden admitted to stealing money and tampering with OMV records.
