PJ approves new fire station for District 4

The Jeff Davis Police Jury agreed Wednesday on plans to build a new fire station to serve Fire District 4. The approval for the district to buy the over two-acre piece of property was granted, but David Bruchhaus, the Police Jury’s attorney, was clear that the property would be owned by the Jury, not the district.
According to Fire Chief Jared Manuel, “the new site and construction project is to replace an outdated station and to update a new station with the current housing market we would be servicing.” Though the property has yet to be purchased, the district is considering a
