Alfred J. Cormier

Alfred J. Cormier, born Nov. 1, 1935, passed away on Sept. 12, 2013.

He attended Fenton High, graduated from McNeese State, and taught elementary school in Jennings for 36 years. He refereed basketball for 20 years and dealt blackjack at Coushatta Casino for 15 years.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 55 years, Catherine “Kay” Cormier; his son, Bryan Cormier; his brother, Caffrey Cormier; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his son Ross Cormier; his mother and father, Elena and Linic Cormier; and his brothers Kirby and Ronald Cormier.

In the interest of medical education, he requested that his remains be donated to science and, according to his wishes, he did not want any memorial service, but was happy to have visited with all his relatives, friends, and neighbors before his passing.
