Late interception seals win for Dogs

Daily News Sports Writer

The Jennings Bulldogs and the Eunice Bobcats stood toe-to-toe all evening with both teams delivering big blows. The Bobcats got in more big hits in the first half than the home-standing Dogs and took a 7-3 lead into the dressing room. Eunice also got the best of the third quarter, but the Dogs took advantage of their hits in the last 12 minutes of the game and scored two touchdowns in the final nine minutes to claim a hard fought 15-7 win.

“All the credit goes to the kids and coaches,” said a very proud Bulldog Head Coach Rusty Phelps. “They came out here and played extremely hard. We were a little bit shaky in the first half, but we got settled in. Our coaches made some great adjustments and our kids took them in. It was a typical Jennings-Eunice game. It was a tough, physical battle.”
