Dogs remain undefeated in district action

Daily News Sports Writer

IOWA – The Jennings Bulldogs and the Iowa Yellow Jackets gathered in Iowa for a key 4-AAA district match-up. Both teams had lots on the line. The Yellow Jackets needed a win to stay in the district title race and a Bulldog win would give them no less than a share of the district championship.

Jennings spotted the Yellow Jackets a seven-point lead early before outscoring the Yellow Jackets 33-7 the rest of the ball game to give them a 33-14 win.

Coach Rusty Phelps was elated with the win. “It keeps us atop the district at 4-0,” he said.
