Hardwood teams host Tuesday contests

The Elton Indians hosted their parish rivals, the Lake Arthur Tigers on Tuesday, while Welsh hosted Johnson Bayou and Hathaway hosted Iowa in boys’ and girls’ action. Lacassine’s ladies also played host to DeRidder in a double-overtime thriller for a win that kept their slate perfect on the season.


Welsh 60, Johnson Bayou 33 (Girls)

After a slow start on offense, the Lady Hounds rebounded from a first quarter 6-8 deficit thanks to hot hands by Madison Hicks and Karley Henderson, who each put up eight points in the second frame. Welsh scored 20 in the period while the Welsh defense held their visitors to five points in the second frame for a Lady Hound 26-13 halftime lead.
