Reward up to $15K in whooping crane shooting

Daily News Staff Report

ROANOKE – As of this morning, the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office had received no tips regarding the shooting of two whooping cranes here. Adam Einck with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries told the Jennings Daily News officials were not releasing whether they had received tips on the shooting or not, but any person with information is still asked to contact the state office.

There’s now a $15,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of whoever shot two endangered whooping cranes this month, killing one of them.
