Roy A. Broussard

 Roy A. Broussard, 66, formerly of Lake Arthur, passed away on June 4, 2014, in Rockville, Md. He was the son of Stephen and Maybla Broussard of Lake Arthur.

He attended Goretti School. From there, he went to St. Paul High School. Upon graduation, he attended Loyola University. He was a member of the ROTC, where he was commissioned to second lieutenant in the Army.

He dedicated 20 years to the U.S. Army as a demolitions expert (bomb squad). He attained the rank of major and traveled to many worldly destinations with President Carter and Henry Kissinger during their time in office.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; two sons, Tommy and Joseph; and his brother, Michael Monlezun Sr. of Lake Arthur.

Funeral services were held in Rockville on June 14, 2014.

Roy will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
