OBITUARIES

Carl J. Langley, 77, passed away at his home with his family at his side on April 28, 2018.

He attended McNeese State University and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education. Carl also belonged to several educational organizations, namely Louisiana High School Athletic Association where he served in many leadership positions. Carl worked in education for 54 years as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and coach. He was very proud of all of his students and athletes. He also worked for Jennings Daily News as the sports editor and sang in his church’s choir. Carl also played basketball and graduated from Fenton High School in 1958. He loved God, his family and his job. Carl was well-respected and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Paula Hebert Langley of Jennings; a daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Eric Peterson of Houston, Texas; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brenda and Alfred Theriot of Abbeville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allie Langley, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Carl J. Langley will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Reverend Susil Fernando officiating.

Funeral home visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
