LAKE ARTHUR - Funeral services for Mr. Curley Cormier, 87, of Lake Arthur will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 2 p.m., with Father Jay Alexius officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Cormier will be held today, Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, from 2-9 p.m., with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Mr. Cormier passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 23, 2018.

Mr. Cormier worked for the drainage district as a dragline operator for many years. He also owned Acadiana Excavation for several years before his retirement. After retirement, he became the coffeemaker for all of his friends at Tiger Mart.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lorraine (Matt) Dees of Jennings, Cathy C. McNeal of Jennings and Theresa (Gene) Gillentine of Gueydan; his sons, Carl (Sue) Cormier of Lake Arthur, Douglas (Tammy) Cormier of Gueydan, Daniel (Cindy) Cormier of Jennings and Anthony (Leanne) Cormier of Lake Arthur; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren; his sisters, Helen Clark of Broussard, Lorena Cammerari of Winnie, Texas, Bobbie Ledoux of Winnie, Texas, and Rose Cormier of Winnie, Texas; and his brothers, Lionel Cormier of Welsh and Burnice Cormier of Bristol, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zepharin and Rosa Cormier; his wife, Nella LaCombe Cormier; two sons-in-law, Emile John Richard and Jerry Lee McNeal; two sisters, Elosha LeBlanc and Mary Lee Cormier; and his brother, Lonnie Cormier.

Pallbearers will be Chris Richard, Damon Scott, Curt Cormier, Eric Cormier, Scott Cormier, Jerod McNeal, Jackson McNeal, Quinton Cormier, Jacob Gillentine, Chayden Cormier, Brandt Cormier and Bryant Faulk.
