It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Edward Paul Gotreaux, Sr. announces his passing from this life on August 20, 2018 at the age of 57.

Memorial services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Bubba McCain officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of his service.

Edward was born in Jennings to Early Joseph Gotreaux and Barbara Touchet Gotreaux on Sept. 19, 1960. He loved the outdoors, fishing and going for rides on his bike. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his children, his nine grandchildren and his two greatgrandchildren. They were the lights of his life. Edward never met a stranger. He was a kind and compassionate soul who will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Edward is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Early “Chick” Gotreaux of Jennings; his two sons, Lawrence Gotreaux (Sheri) of Virginia Beach, Vir., and Edward Paul Gotreaux, Jr. (Meagan) of Welsh; his two daughters, Carol Viator (Ted) of Iowa and Barbara Butler (Luke) of Kaplan; his brother, Steven Gotreaux of Jennings; his two sisters, Laura Blanchard (Jerry) of Jennings and Rhonda Georgepoulos (Bill) of Shreveport; as well as his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his grandparents, Huey and Viola Touchet and Amar and Louis Gotreaux; and his nephew, David Blanchard.
