Funeral services for Mrs. Elodie C. Papillon, 92, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Jennings United Methodist Church, with Rev. Walter Parker officiating.

Visitation will be held at Miguez Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018. and will resume at the church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Jennings. Elodie Papillon of Granger died Thursday morning, March 29, 2018, at Brookdale Senior Living. Mrs. Papillon was born Feb. 9, 1926, in Jennings to the late Marie L. (LeJeune) and Clifford P. Crochet, Sr. and lived in Jennings most of her life until moving to South Bend three years ago. On Dec. 12, 1947, in Jennings, she married John R. Papillon who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, John R. Papillon and Michael R. Papillon; a daughter-in-law, Samantha Papillon; and sisters, Emmerline Broussard and Ellen Crochet.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia P. Fulcher (Daniel) of South Bend; son, Alfred L. Papillon of Summerville, S.C.; daughter-in-law, Suezanne Papillon of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren, Joseph J. Fulcher (Becki) and Sarah S. Fulcher; great-grandchildren, Michael J. Fulcher, Selene E. Fulcher, and Hunter R. Fulcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Papillon retired as a bookkeeper for Jennings American Legion Hospital after many years of service.

Elodie had a variety of interests. She enjoyed collecting an assortment of antiques, butterflies and angels. She liked to paint, sew, travel and read books. She enjoyed volunteering at the local veterans facilities in Jennings, First United Methodist Church in Jennings and Evangel Heights United Methodist Church in South Bend. She loved her Cajun cuisine, especially crab cakes, catfish, gumbo and sweet potatoes.
