It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Elsie Marie Landry announces her passing from this life on April 16, 2018, at the age of 85.

Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 1 p.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 20, 2018, from 3-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Friday evening. Visitation will resume on Saturday, April 21, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service.

Burial will follow in Doucet Cemetery.

Elsie was born in Hackberry to Omer and Ida Duhon Cuvillier on May 28, 1932. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening and playing bingo.

Elsie had a big heart and enjoyed helping people. She especially loved singing with her praise group. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Elsie is survived by her two daughters, Wanda Sossoman of Chicago, Ill., and Roxie L. Young (Kevin) of JenningsA; two sisters, Ida Mae Doyle of Jennings and Thelma Reeves of Ragley; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Ida Duhon Cuvillier; her husband, Claude Lee Landry; two daughters, Deborah Landry and Jeanie Marie Landry; and her brother, Homer Lee Cuvillier.
