Eula LaPoint

Funeral services for Mrs. Eula LaPoint, 80, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Rev. Susil Fernando officiating.

Visitation will be held at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings from 4-9 p.m. Friday; and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will be in Hanks Cemetery near Morse.

Mrs. LaPoint passed away at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in her residence.

Mrs. LaPoint was a resident of Jennings most of her life. She lovingly cared for her husband during his 15-year illness. She loved family gatherings, cooking and playing cards. She also loved her seven children and loved seeing them happy. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Jeannette LaPoint of Jennings; three sons, Calvin (Suzie) LaPoint, Jr. of Brazil, Edward (Lizzie) LaPoint of Thibodeaux and Randall (Lisa) LaPoint of Jennings; her companion, Jimmie Martin; two brothers, Sonny Lavergne of Crowley and Clofe Leleux of Jennings; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edias and Eve Hanks Lavergne, her husband, Calvin Joseph LaPoint, Sr.; three sons, John M., David W. and Glenn J. LaPoint; one sister, Joy Bennett; and one granddaughter, Jennifer L. Guillory.

Pallbearers will be Randall LaPoint, Edward LaPoint, Calvin LaPoint, John LaPoint, Jr., Shaun LaPoint and Randall LaPoint, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clofe Leleux, Dale LaPoint and Jareth LaSage.
