Harold James ‘Jimmy/Scooby’ Fruge, Sr.

Funeral services for Harold James “Jimmy/Scooby” Fruge, Sr., 69, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Mickey Istre officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held beginning today, Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, from 3:30-7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, Oct. 12, from 8 a.m. until the time of his service at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in Lake View Cemetery.

Jimmy/Scooby was born in Jennings on Aug. 22, 1949, to Eldrige Fruge and Ophelia Benoit Fruge. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Oct. 9, 2018.

Jimmy/Scooby worked as a trucker driver, a job he enjoyed. He loved the outdoors, fishing and working in his garden. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, children and grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jimmy/Scooby is survived by his wife, Margie Carlos Fruge of Jennings; his two sons, Harold J. Fruge, Jr. of Jennings and David Fruge of Jennings; his two daughters, Racquel Renée Fruge of Welsh and Jamie Fruge of Welsh; his two sisters, Alice Mott of Roanoke and Sherri Cornell of Gilbertown, Ala. ; as well as his five grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Katylnn, Gage, Shawn and Bethany; and one great-grandchild, Sebastian.

Jimmy/Scooby was preceded in death by his parents, Eldrige and Ophelia Fruge; his daughter, Angela Fruge; his brother, Chester Fruge, Sr.; and his half sister, Betty Fruge.
