Mr. Jerry Joseph LeGros, 61, of Scott passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2018, in a Lafayette hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at 2 p.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, with Father Nick Dupre’ officiating.

Visitation for Mr. LeGros will begin Sunday afternoon, Aug. 19, at 1:30 p.m. in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings and will continue

until 9 p.m. A rosary service will be recited at 6 p.m.

Monday morning visitation will be held at Martin and Castille Funeral Home of Scott from 8 a.m. until service time.

Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Martin and Castille Funeral Home of Scott.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Although he was born in Jennings, Mr. LeGros spent most of his life as a resident of the Milton/Scott area. Mr. LeGros was well known throughout the communities of Lake Arthur, Jennings and Scott as someone who loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. In fact, his friends call him “Pipes.” He was a cantor in the church, a member of the Lake Arthur Coalition, RCIA program, Acadiana High School Band Members and a member of DJR Karaoke group.

Although he enjoyed singing, his first priority was his relationship with God; he was very strong in his faith and served as an excellent example to all. His children and grandchildren were very special to him and a great joy in his life.

Mr. LeGros was a gemologist with a long career in the jewelry business, with jewelry stores in the Lafayette area.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie LeGros; daughter, Hillary (Hunter) Perry of Lafayette; son, Luke (Emily) LeGros of Lafayette; sister, Ramona (Ronald) Quebedeaux of Jennings; brothers, Roland (Roxanne) LeGros and Calvin LeGros, all of Jennings; and four very precious grandchildren, Carley, Victoria, Aubrey and Noah LeGros.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Joseph and Martha Mae Martin LeGros; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Curley and Eula Mae Broussard Courts; and a daughter, Baby LeGros.

Carrying Mr. LeGros to his rest will be pallbearers Luke LeGros, Hunter Perry, Paul Courts, Rory Quebedeaux, Rob Tierney, Randal Menard, Joe Courts and Johnathon Courts.

Honorary pallbearers are Ronald Quebedeaux, Roland LeGros, Calvin LeGros, Warren Landry and Russell Myers.
