Funeral services for John Doyle Folley, 88, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at 2 p.m., with Brother Brian Wells officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, from 3:30-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of his service at 2 p.m.

Burial will follow with Full Military Rites in Grace Community Center Cemetery, formerly Miller French Baptist Cemetery.

John was born in Pampa, Texas, on Jan. 21, 1930, to Hiram Folley and Emma Robinson Folley. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Nov. 26, 2018. John served our country honorably in the Army, serving during the Korean War. John moved to Jennings in 1986 and worked as a consultant for Sun Oil Company. He loved the outdoors and hunting. John also loved to travel, spend time with his family and read his Bible. He was a member of the Shriners and also belonged to the Masonic Lodge in which he was a 32nd degree Mason. John was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karine F. Folley of Jennings; his son, John Allen Folley of Sulphur; his daughter, Barbara Guidry (Guy) of Jennings; his four grandchildren, Krista O’Quinn, J.T. Folley, Tim Guidry and Troy Guidry; his 11 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Emma Folley; and his brothers and sisters.

Carrying John to his final resting place will be Tim Guidry, Timmy Guidry, Josh Guidry, Troy Guidry, Ryder O’Quinn and Phillip Miller.
