The family and friends of Kenneth Carl Decker, Sr. are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Oct. 16, 2018, at the age of 80. Funeral services for Kenneth Carl Decker, Sr., 80, of Evangeline will be held at Grace Community Baptist Church in Iota on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at 11 a.m., with Reverend Kevin Colson officiating.

Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Thursday, Oct. 18, from 2:30-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at Grace Community Baptist Church in Iota.

Burial will follow in Grace Community Cemetery.

Kenneth was born in Jennings to Wellington Decker and Zelphie Laughlin Decker on March 7, 1938. Kenneth worked in the oilfield as a consultant. He loved his old cars, his motorcycles and attending Cruisin’ the Coast in Mississippi, as well as traveling and shooting firearms. Most of all, Kenneth loved family events and visiting with neighbors. Kenneth was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Margie Patin Decker of Evangeline; his son, Kenneth Decker, Jr. of Evangeline; his daughter, Trisha Marie LeBlanc (Russell) of Evangeline; his seven grandchildren, Paige, Chista, Nicole, Russell, Tyler, Hayden and Ken; his three brothers, Greg Decker of Crowley, Gerald Decker of Evangeline and Donald Decker of Iota; his two sisters, Kathleen Pelissier of Iota and Barbara Thibodeaux of Iota; as well as his nine great-grandchildren.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Wellington and Zelphie Laughlin Decker; and his daughter, Donna D. Garcia.

Carrying Kenneth to his final resting place in Grace Community Cemetery will be Russell LeBlanc, Sr., Russell LeBlanc, Jr., Tyler LeBlanc, Nichole Miller, Robin Pelissier and Skyler Richard.
