Three local people were arrested in separate cases recently for charges including molestation and cruelty to a juvenile.

A Jennings man was arrested Friday for allegedly molesting one or possibly more of the children in his care.

Donnie Guillory, 38, was arrested and charged with sexual battery and molestation of a juvenile after his 13-year-old stepdaughter alleged that he had been molesting her since the age of six, Jennings Police Detective Richard Geiger said.

On March 6, officers were called to 621 Sheridan Street for a domestic disturbance. There they found that Nancy Guillory and her 13-year-old daughter were fighting because the girl had allegedly cursed at her mother. During an interview the girl told police that her mother was angry with her because she had told a friend that her stepfather had been molesting her since she was six years old. The friend of the girl allegedly confronted Nancy Guillory with the allegations, Geiger said.

The girl told police that the molestation had happened numerous times in different towns where they had lived. The girl also told police that she believed her 11-year-old stepsister, and biological daughter of Donnie Guillory, had also been a victim of molestation by him, Geiger said.

During an interview the 11-year-old girl did not admit to being molested but told police that she had seen Donnie Guillory in bed with her 13-year-old stepsister, Geiger said.

During an interview with Donnie Guillory, detectives brought up what his daughter and stepdaughter had told them and without prompting, he asked detectives if anyone had spoken to his and Nancy’s six-yearold daughter. Police believe that she may be a victim of molestation as well, Geiger said.

During an investigation of his cell phone, police found links in the suspect’s search history that hint at molestation, Geiger said.

Donnie Guillory was arrested and is being held at the parish jail. Nancy Guillory was also arrested and charged with domestic abuse.

Meanwhile, a second arrest was made late last week in connection with cruelty to an 8-month-old baby in Welsh.

Tamberlynn Reed, of Welsh, the child’s mother, was arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile, Welsh Police Chief Marcus Crochet said.

This is the second arrest in this case after the March 12 arrest of Strody Richard, 20, of Jennings, who was charged with varying levels of cruelty to a juvenile.

According to Crochet the abuse took place after Richard and Reed smoked crystal meth at their home together on the night of March 12. Soon after using the drugs Reed left her 8-month-old baby alone in the home with Richard while he was asleep.

Sometime after Reed left the home the baby woke up and began crying, waking up Richard, Crochet said.

At this time Richard allegedly picked up the baby and began shaking it to silence it, Crochet said.

The baby was taken to an area hospital where it was found that the child had two broken bones in its left arm, which would require surgery, as well as several bruises and a large lump on its head. A 2-yearold also found in the home, the sibling of the injured baby, was found to have a busted lip, Crochet said.

Richard, who is not the father of the injured child, was arrested March 14 and charged with seconddegree cruelty to a juvenile and cruelty to a juvenile. He was taken to the parish jail. A $30,000 bond has been set for his release.

Reed was arrested March 16 after police received conflicting reports of who was actually with the baby when the injuries occurred. She was charged with second degree cruelty to a juvenile and taken to the parish jail. She was released Saturday on a $5,000 bail.
