Funeral services for Marilyn Denise “M.D.” Davis were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, in New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Welsh.

Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in the church.

Burial was in Eastridge Cemetery in Welsh under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.

Marilyn Denise “M.D.” Davis was born on Dec. 2, 1956, in Monroe to the late Mary Louise Pitre and the late Arnold Davis. She attended Bethune High School until desegregation, then she transferred to Welsh High School, where she graduated in 1974.

She was united in marriage to the late Cleve Cormier, and to this union three sons and two daughters were born. Later, she united in marriage to Benjamin Willer. Marilyn was a very outgoing and “outspoken” person who never met a stranger. She loved cooking, baking, and going to the casino!

Marilyn leaves to cherish her memories her two sons, Wenfred and Wendell Davis, both of Welsh; one daughter, Maya Davis of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Dian Guillory of Welsh and Gale Drawsand of Jennings; six brothers, Ronnie Drawsand of Alexandria, Richard Guillory of Pineville, Brian Davis of Welsh, Thomas Guillory and Donald Ray (Ester) Guillory, both of Lake Charles, and Darrell (Melissa) Guillory of Lanton, Okla.; one uncle, Patrick (Ellen) Pitre of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Mary Louise Pitre; her first husband, Cleve Cormier; one daughter, Winetta Drawsand; one son, Michael Davis; and one brother, Nathaniel Drawsand.
