On the morning of Saturday, June 22, 2019, God in his infinite wisdom summoned a faithful servant, sister Anne Levonne Perkins Duhon, from labor to reward.

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 10-11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church, located at 1014 S Main St. in Jennings, with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m.  

Burial will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Church Cemetery under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.

Anne was born on Dec. 1, 1962, in Lake Charles. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized by the late Dr. G.C. Chaney. She grew up in the church as a member of the Sunshine band, youth choir and a member of the first praise and worship team. She was a member of the personnel committee and attended Wednesday night bible study faithfully. She led the G.C. Chaney youth choir for a brief period.

Anne was a 1980 graduate of Jennings High School. She also graduated from Delta School of Business in office administration. She was employed by Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals for 29 years.

Anne was affectionately called “Martha” because she was always serving wherever she was needed. She touched the lives of so many young people and everyone she could help. She served faithfully until God called her home.

Anne was preceded in death by her mother, Lovinia Ann Perkins; her father, Murphy Anderson; her maternal grandparents, Mack and Alberta Perkins; her paternal grandmother, Madeline Anderson; and her paternal great great-grandmother, Louisiana Zeno.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughter, Carmondy Anne Duhon; and her siblings, Andrea Anderson, LaFaye Anderson, Sherryl Perkins, Rev. Gerald Perkins, Sr., Glenda Perkins, Brenda Perkins, Lynda Perkins and Kenneth Perkins. She also leaves her two aunts, Mabel Thomas and Birdell Perkins; two uncles, Henry Perkins and Leroy Perkins, Sr.; a very special cousin, Clevetta Hawkins; and a host of other cousin nieces, nephews, cousins, special girlfriends and friends.
