Funeral services for Clifton “Cliff” Murray Bergeaux, Jr., 49, of Welsh were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at 7 p.m., with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 2:30 p.m. until the time of his service at 7 p.m.

Cliff was born in Lake Charles on Feb. 23, 1969, to Clifton Murray Bergeaux, Sr., and Merlene Reed Bergeaux. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Dec.r 30, 2018.

Cliff was a hairdresser, a job which he loved. He loved to cook, dance and visit cemeteries. Most of all, Cliff loved spending time with his family and friends. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cliff is survived by his mother, Merlene Reed Bergeaux of Basile; his two sons, Christopher Cormier of Jennings and Sir Malachi Bergeaux of Welsh; his three daughters, Monica Stevenson of Alexandria, Ayla Bettevy of Jennings and Shelbi Bergeaux of Hathaway; his brother, Chris Bergeaux of New Orleans; his two sisters, Helen Vidrine of Basile and Peggy Bergeaux of Basile; and his six grandchildren.

Cliff was preceded in death by his father, Clifton M. Bergeaux, Sr.; and his grandparents, Hurbert and Eva Reed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Matthews and Son Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
