It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Clotis Vincent, 84, of Jennings announces his passing from this life on Dec. 31, 2020.

Funeral services for Clotis Vincent, 84, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at 2 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home today, Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in Istre Cemetery.

Clotis was born in Morse to Dause Vincent and Ida Benoit on Nov. 26, 1936.

Clotis served our country honorably in the Marines. He was enormously proud to have served and was a member of the Marine Corp League. He loved being outdoors and fishing, as well as traveling. He also loved spending time with all his family. Clotis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left behind to cherish Clotis’s memories are his son, Clotis Elliott Vincent (Janet) of Deridder; his daughters, Lora Mae Whitewing (Andrus) of Carencro, Ada Mae Vincent Gautreaux (Brian) of Elton and Rachel Mae Vincent Celestin (Paul) of Houma; his stepchildren, Dennis Cormier, Donnie Cormier, Melinda Hanks, Curtis Wayne Cormier and Jody Cormier; his 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Clotis was preceded in death by his parents, Dause and Ida Benoit Vincent; his daughter, Virginia Mae Duhon; his grandson, Damien Matlock; his two sisters, Juanita Mae Breaux and Vivian Lepretre; and his stepsons, Danny Cormier and Kevin Cormier.
